A meditation on the ephemeral nature of existence, the bridges between our subconscious and our waking life, BioDream is a psychedelic dreamscape inspired by human connection and the importance of friendship, nature and the symbolic meanings in water and immersion, and the extraordinary possibilities that exist in the process of rebirth and growth after significant loss.

The work is in part a tribute to our dear friend and collaborator, Jonathan Nix, who died at the end of 2023. It is a sad truth that the impact that a good person can have on your life is most profoundly felt when that person is gone. The feeling that they are no longer here can be overwhelming - in dreams, water can be an expression of this unfathomable experience and the imbalance and turbulence that we feel. Water can also be symbolic of a yearning for a simpler life, or a calming grounding feeling, or the beginning of something new.

BioDream seeks to express that we are lucky to experience connection with those who we care about, and while certain truths are inescapable, the process of new growth is inevitable.
