On the day before ANZAC day 2018, The Sir John Monash Centre was officially opened. The purpose built interpretive and educational centre commemorates Australian servicemen and women who served on the Western Front during the First World War.

The centrepiece of the Sir John Monash Center is the Immersive Experience which is presented through a 180-screen, 360-degree immersive gallery. The experience places the visitor in the heart of the battles of Villers-Bretonneux and Le Hamel through an 8 minute 360-degree film.

The film’s impact is heightened through its sense of place as the Centre is located on the Villers-Bretonneux battle site and the immersion is extended through accompanying choreographed lighting and practical smoke.

The ‘Immersive Experience’ successfully engages visitors at an emotional level, comunicating the impact of the battles. Matt Dudgeon - Production Manager
