An Act Of Being
Bangarra Dance Theatre
An Act of Being is a large-scale, four-screen ghostMESH installation spaced 6 metres between each screen on the Stargazer Lawn at Barangaroo Reserve, Sydney. Commissioned by Vivid Sydney, the work creates a holographic perspective which draws in the viewer.
Developed by Bangarra Dance Theatre in collaboration with Reconciliation Australia, it blends contemporary dance, physical theatre, and cutting-edge projection. Figures suspended mid-air resist elastic tethers as constitutional texts, colonial documents, and fragmented data are cast across their bodies—embodying the tension between displacement and resilience.
